Karawang (September 12, 2014) – PT Bridgestone Tire Indonesia (BSI), subsidiary of the world’s leading tire manufacturer, Bridgestone Corporation, today announced its latest project, “Ecopia Go Indonesia”. Ecopia is the finest and no-compromise eco-friendly tire made for Indonesian consumers who demand fuel economy and longer durability with superior safety at the same time.

 

The “Ecopia Go Indonesia” project is mainly focused on strengthening ECOPIA’s product value and benefit for Indonesian consumers. At the same time this project also answers the question of how much fuel-efficiency the ECOPIA can deliver.

 

A team of professional drivers will conduct a road trip around the Java island in 9 days, covering approximately 1,687 KM of total distance, using three same-condition vehicles – one to be fitted with the ECOPIA tires, and the other two with different sets of tires from competitors. The trip begins at Bridgestone’s Proving Ground in Karawang on September 12, 2014 and will finish on September 20, 2014 at the same place.

 

During the road trip, the team of “Ecopia Go Indonesia” drivers will be visiting 7 major cities including Bandung, Purwokerto, Yogyakarta, Madiun, Surabaya, Semarang and Cirebon. In each city, the team of drivers will be meeting the local consumers and dealers to get together and show real updates of ECOPIA’s performances of fuel efficiency.

 

There are several elements that would be monitored during the road trip, namely fuel efficiency, tire pressure and distance covered. Proper and international standard testing equipment will be used to measure the elements such as the GPS Tracker to monitor distance covered, bottle measure to measure fuel consumption, etc. Those equipment will also ensure a high level of fairness in conducting the tire testing.

 

Sales and Marketing Director of PT Bridgestone Tire Indonesia Yasuhiro Ukegawa said, “We are very excited about the “Ecopia Go Indonesia” Project. The test results will surely demonstrate that ECOPIA is the perfect tire for Indonesian consumers to have their car enjoy greater fuel efficiency and longer wear life.

 

“The tire testing will also focus on strengthening its popular image of being a fuel-saving tire because the end result of this project is to provide real data at high level of fairness to demonstrate how ECOPIA can contribute to helping you save your fuel,” he added.

 

“Ecopia Go Indonesia” will be using the ECOPIA EP150 tires for the road trip. Bridgestone’s ECOPIA EP150 tires have the ultimate design and construction that reduce rolling resistance and thus boost the fuel efficiency, without compromising on other performance and safety parameters like wet and dry handling, stability, braking responsiveness and tire noise levels.
