Thai Bridgestone Promotes Learning for the Environment and Natural Resources Sustainable Conservation through the 7th Green Young Investigator Project

Pathumthani (19th February 2016) – Thai Bridgestone Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education, and the Foundation for Environmental Education for Sustainable Development (Thailand), emphasizes the importance of obtaining knowledge for natural resources sustainable conservation, as well as to increase eco-consciousness among students through the 7th Green Young Investigator Project.
The annual award ceremony “Day of Pride” was held on 18th February 2016 at the Nature and Agriculture Education Center (NAEC) in Pathumthani Province. At the Ceremony, 541 students and 98 teachers from 38 schools who participated in the project received awards.
The 7th Green Young Investigator Project, which was held from May 2015 to January 2016, is an educational activity aiming to provide students in primary and high schools with accesses to knowledge of natural resources. It established four learning stages which are discovering, exploring, conserving and sharing in their surrounding communities. The three main concepts for the students’ research studies of this year’s Project are - “Biodiversity and Ecosystems”, “Culture and Local Wisdom” and “Global Warming and Pollution”
The ultimate goal of this Project is to reach out to schools, as they play an important role in shaping the beliefs and attitudes of the young generations, to transform them into environmental citizens that protect their local environment. This initiative is in line with Bridgestone’s long-term commitment towards the environment, as highlighted in Bridgestone’s Environmental Mission Statement “To help ensure the healthy environment for current and future generations”.
