Singapore (24 February, 2025) — Bridgestone Asia Pacific, India, China (BSAPIC) announced that its tire manufacturing plants of Bridgestone Taiwan Co., Ltd. (BSFC) and Bridgestone Tire Manufacturing Vietnam LLC. (BTMV) have achieved the globally recognized ISCC PLUS certification.
The International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) acknowledges and documents the credibility and traceability of alternative raw materials, encompassing bio, bio-circular, and circular-based materials in the manufacturing process. By validating the sustainability characteristics of alternative feedstocks throughout the entire supply chain, from origin to end consumer, ISCC PLUS supports the shift towards a circular economy and bioeconomy.
Including these two plants, Bridgestone has now obtained ISCC PLUS certification at 16 tire manufacturing plants worldwide.
Bridgestone envisions ‘Toward 2050, Bridgestone continues to provide social value and customer value as a sustainable solutions company.’ To realize this vision, Bridgestone is accelerating its unique Sustainability Business Model, linking its business with efforts toward carbon neutrality and a circular economy across the entire value chain—from “Produce and Sell” and “Use” of products to their “renewal” to raw materials. As part of its long-term environmental vision toward 2050, Bridgestone has set a goal of achieving 100% sustainable materials*1 and is advancing efforts to increase the ratio of recycled and renewable materials, tracked through the Material Circularity Number (MCN). With the acquisition of this certification, Bridgestone will further accelerate the utilization of recycled and renewable materials in its products, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable value creation.
“Achieving ISCC PLUS certification for our BSFC and BTMV plants is a significant milestone in Bridgestone’s sustainability journey, reinforcing our commitment to advancing a circular economy and carbon neutrality across our operations.” said Seigo Hata, Vice President, responsible for Sales & Marketing and Sustainability across BSAPIC. “This certification demonstrates our continued efforts to integrate more recycled and renewable materials into our products while promoting transparency and sustainability throughout our supply chain. About ISCC PLUS
Founded in 2010 through a multi-stakeholder initiative, the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) is a globally applicable and leading certification system designed to enhance traceable, sustainable, deforestation-free, and climate-friendly supply chains. ISCC certifications are widely recognized and cover sustainable agricultural biomass, biogenic wastes and residues, non-biological renewable materials and recycled carbon-based materials. The development and implementation of different certification standards is ISCC’s tool to promote its mission to mitigate climate change and bring more traceability into global markets and supply chains. The ISCC PLUS standard, in particular, supports the transition to a circular economy and bioeconomy. This voluntary certification standard validates the sustainability characteristics of alternative feedstocks throughout the entire supply chain, from origin to end customer.
